About Me

Anne Hardart, MD, is a well-respected expert in the field of urogynecology. She serves as Program Director for the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and as the Director of Gynecology at Mount Sinai West, one of the main sites of training for FPMRS fellows.

Dr. Hardart’s interests include surgical and non-surgical treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence, minimally invasive surgery, shared decision making, health equity, diversity and inclusion in medicine, global health and education of fellows, residents and students. Dr. Hardart is a skilled vaginal and laparoscopic surgeon, and while her focus is on urogynecology and pelvic floor disorders, she also treats women with other benign gynecologic conditions requiring surgery, such as fibroids, abnormal bleeding, and adnexal masses.

She has been named a Castle Connolly/New York Magazine Top Doctor and a New York Times Magazine Super Doctor for the past several years, and has twice received a national teaching award. She is active in the American Urogynecologic Society and was in the first group of urogynecologists to become board certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Hardart received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. She completed her fellowship in urogynecology at the University of Southern California and returned to New York City, where she has been practicing since.
